Recently, the association made a breakthrough discovery—a more promising solution in the form of reflective paint applied to the reindeer’s antlers. Unlike vests, this paint adheres to the antlers for longer durations and exhibits enhanced visibility to light sources, significantly reducing the likelihood of accidents. This innovative approach has already proven successful in saving the lives of numerous reindeer, marking a significant milestone in their protection.
While there are still challenges to overcome, such as issues of paint rubbing off and becoming dirty, conservationists are continuously working towards finding improved remedies.
